Coyote Ugly (2000) honestly this movie was fun, but you do have to wade through quite a bit of tits and ass to find it. I mean, it's fun probably also because there's so much tits and ass but like, it gets distracting. You find yourself wondering about the health regulations in Neuuww Yoahhkk CiitaAyYYyyy and how exactly these women are getting away with shitkicking on TOP of the bar and also setting it on fire. You know what, it doesn't matter, shut up and watch the TITS. Oh also I'm in love with the stereotypical bitch/ass-kicker girl because of course I am. This is a 5/10, closer to a 4 than a 6.
SPOILERS AHEAD FOR Twister (1996) is one of my favorite movies of all time I cannot lie to you. The sound design of the Twister(s). The score. The cast. The cow. Just like the whole thing. Watching this movie again as an adult is wild and I highly recommend it even if the last time you saw it was 10 years ago. There's a divorce subplot which hits different when you're getting close to 40, but what struck me most was how much this movie is about Jo's journey through her trauma and guilt. It's also a movie where a giant fuckoff tornado rips through a drive-thru screening of The Shining (1980) in one of my favorite film set pieces and scenes of all time, so it's got high drama and high art. 11/fucking 10 highly recommend watch this today and I guess now I have to go watch the sequel(?) in theatres? Is that a thing I should do? I don't know if I need to do that. Is there some generic hot white guy in it? Oh, there is? Ugh, needs must I suppose.
Sarah won by roll of the dice! Her chosen number was... uh, was it two? Did two win? Whatever number was rolled was hers and she won waheyyyy!!
Thank You For Smoking (2005) was excellent and I am angry that I hadn't seen this movie before. It got so much hype when it came out I completely dismissed it. You might be saying "wow, you're a dumbass" and brother you'd be right. This movie aged like a fine whiskey and is possibly even more biting and accurate than when it originally played. It should be required viewing in every classroom so we can all learn how to talk circles around everyone else and rule the goddamn world. Fuck me man too real 10/10
Sarah: Reality Bites (1994)
Cass: Staying Alive (1983)
Amanda: Coyote Ugly (2000)
Jaz: Twister (1996)
Jesse won by lottery! Congratulations Jesse!
The Big Bus (1976) was a lot of fun, although we missed some pop culture references from the time I'm sure. Stockard Channing is in this movie and I love her, but she could've been a bit sillier. Actually everybody could've been a bit sillier. The Big Bus itself is a cool concept although limited by budget and the technology of the time. Also while I was watching this I really just wanted to watch Airplane! (1980) which is a better movie and more timeless than this one, but you can watch both and not be upset about it. 6/10
